Mural

Though, Chauvet Cave paintings from sounthern France are the earliest metaphor for the wallpaintings made by man, it prefigured the whole world for painting on walls. Hundreds of animal paintings have been painted here. The techniques found here are the rarest artist techniques. This had been inspiring million of artist including me who found a spare wall in my house.

There are two sides of looking at this. First, the wall painting has come to me as natural instinct. Secondly, the design is the shared aesthetic as space and material are found in house. This is the real evidence to design is inspired by natural art.

Transmedia- moving images

Transmedia is becoming more a way of thinking rather than a way of describing a particular storytelling. Learning how to weave together complementary technologies to create compelling experiences that advocate, mobilize, educate, entertain or all of the above is now an essential skill for a contemporary design or art. The elements used in transmedia are not particularly new but the way in which a story, a place, an object, or an idea is engaged with through the convergence of watching, listening, interacting, networking and participating is new. As more channels and more media are introduced to me it has become more important to be able to create meaningful experiences. Here I shared some moving images I had experienced.

Wedding Card Design

Indian weddings are the most complex process I have ever observed. And it starts with Indian wedding cards. Though there is only one motto of this piece of art, the customs and prolong habits have made wedding invitation most complex design. Recently I was reading a book called Simplicity by Edward De Bono. In which he has quoted, " There is always the possibility that there is a simpler way to do something. Even if that is not always the case it is always worth investing some thinking time and creative effort in trying to find a simpler approach." So here is my effort to make complex wedding invitation simpler.

Identity and Tattooing

Man's earliest ambition is to create. To this feeling must be ascribed the tattooing of the human face and body, resorted to by the savage to increase the expression by which he seeks to strike terror on his enemies or rivals, or to create what appears to him a new beauty. Still, the highest ambition is to create, to stamp on this earth the impress of an individual mind.

The pleasure we receive in contemplating the rude attempts at ornaments like tattooing arrises from our appreciation of difficulty accomplished. I was once charmed by the evidence of the intention, and surprised at the simple and ingenious process by which the result is obtained.

In tribal communities we observe, individualities decreases in the ration of the power of production. When art is manufactured by combined efforts, not originated by individual effort, we fail to recognise those true instincts which constitute its greatest charm.

Here what I have evidenced is a very remarkable tattooing on the head which is from the museum at Chester. It showing that in this very barbarous practice the principle s of the very highest ornamental art are manifest, every line upon the face is the best adapted to develop the natural features.

I have concluded with my experience of the rude attempt of tattooing is that ornamenting your part of body is to believing on your principles and faith. The principle believes creates the identity and so as caters to fulfil the earliest ambition. Practices like tattooing create permanent impression based on the thought it given. I have received surprised reactions from my belongings, still it helped creating a certain identity.

Game Design

A natural instinct of human habit is playing games. Indirectly or directly we play many games. In different environments or different surrounding we play many games. In various time, age and period we explore many games. We experiment with different characteristics, avatars, gadgets in many levels. In each gameplay we have to achieve something. I guess, thats how we learn. Play and learn is the simplest meaning of any game.

But Game design is a serious business. Above all this, game design needs to serve for psychology of the player. It should give different experience each time. A lot of user experience is involved in designing a game. After a technology revolution game designing has been challenged more and more.

My experience in game designing is quite minimal. While designing for the games I first think a lot about space, time, characters, gameplay and challenges. Also the target user or player.

There are enough games for multiple interfaces, there in the landscape. This one came from an idea to design for theme park. Here, the requirement was more for virtual game space or new media game interface so as to build total experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the process and hope to see the game up there soon.

Thanks to Pravin, Santosh and Girish for helping me understand the virtual game world.

5 Thumb Rules of Design and Development

Past one of month I was involved into content visualisation, the information and my irreverent sense of humour. I was trying to get words and pictures back together. I tried to visulised complex idea about product development process and to doodle the 5 thumb rules of design and development. Doodles make people look at the same page so they can start talking about a shared reality, and not just the one in their heads.

I got the expert content at an early stage. I crafted the exact message and visualised it in the right format for the target audience. I tried to make compelling story to make people pay more attention and remember it.

Talking about a challenge or a vision is only half the battle- seeing it and owning it is the other half. Playing with doodles and animation techniques is a serious
business. I tried using large scale visuals to engage, innovate, build consensus and take action.

Hands

Writing a poem is never my cup of tea. But creative experiment can happen any time. This was a phase I think every artist stumble upon. This is how I start cribbing. This is how I get frustrated. This is how put my irritation. And yes, this is how I calm down myself.
